I think I have to agree with you on this.The detroit manual I found is really informative and I think it might hold the answer's to what can be done.
Hopefully someone will start messing with this so we can see the result....I would but I have a DDEC IV so I don't have to worry about it.

Anybody have any exper with drilling out the fuel fitting on the back of the head.I heard it will give some extra hp.Any body done it?Did it work good and could you tell a difference?

I went to 89 thousants on both my 11.1 Detroits and could tell a lot of difference in low end torque. I couldn't tell much on my 12.7. It was a 1550 ft lb torque engine, so that may have been the difference.
I have been told not to drill above that, or the injectors have a chance of starving for fuel. -

Plus I live in southeast TX, all I need to do to check the humidty sensor is just go home.. lol
I must have missed that part as I don't recall reading it in the detroit manual -
I got some information about what I need to do to modify the EGR circuit. Need to slder in a resistor. they gave me the resistance value to start out at but they didn't tell me if I should use 1/4 watt, 1/2 watt, 1 watt, etc resistors.
DOes anyone know? I'm thinking 1/4 watt is fine since the ecm runs on mili volts, or do the sensors run 12 volts? -
Where in the egr circuit do you put it? what does it do when its in there?

somewhere in this section there are a few threads which mention the procedure, and no CEL or fault results from this. -
that's for the ISX donk. the DDEC IV will immediatly derate if you try that. Detroit is much more difficult to deal with.
As I understand it the resistor causes the egr function t be reduced thus increasing fuel mileage and hopefully slowing down the EGR replacements.
