I will go on the assumption that you are joking about 20 years of local doesnt equal 6 months OTR. What great skill is required to hold on to a steeing wheel for 10 consec. hours on a 2 or 4 lane hi-way versus an 8 hour shift constantly driving in a city environment backing into docks that you wouldnt want to back a small u- Haul trailer into? I wish i only had to back into a dock 6-10 times a week and drive on a rural interstate hi-way.

its not the companies its the insurance companies. do you honestly think a trucking company would not hire a guy with 10, hell even 5 years local experience?? its the insurance companies.

I wasn't talking about how I feel about it, thats how the OTR companies think. I do LTL OTR Furniture myself i hit anywhere from 1 to 12 docks a day. alll small mom and pop places not made for big trucks.

i would imagine, i cant say for sure though but i would not see why your driving would be discredited simply because a couple days a week or so you were not driving.
