Hey everyone, the company is looking at purchasing some 2005 Volvo 64ts 365 horse daycabs. THey have the Volvo engine in them. We have 5 2003s with the Volvo motor and they seem alright. I guess my questions is how are the 05s because I know they got the egr in them. Any info would be appreciated.
thank you

same thing as pre egr, just egr's go bad occasionally
-
So there a reliable engine? We have some 03s and they seem bullet proof. Thanks for the reply
-
Pre-emission D12 were 1.5 million engines many says.I own '01 465 hp since 700 000, million now, no much complaints.
Not the strongest pulling power but when You need pay for own fuel...
I love Volvo ride, dashboard layout and quietness of cab.
Now EGR ones well, lets say You can fix them...LOLRunFlat Thanks this. -
Yeah we have 5 03s, not much to complain about, drivers like the maneuverability, there like driving a little car. That's why were looking at some 05s. There a bunch of old Shaws grocery trucks I don't know if your familiar but there crap green they run main/Vermont/mass/nh a lot.
how often you think the egr will go bad? We have 06 freightliner detroits with egr and there a nightmare. -
05's are good trucks and not as many posts about egr probs with them. We ran a day cab up to 1.5M, egr replaced at 850K. Even at 1.5M the oil analysis was good. As with all manufacturers post '06 it all went to crap but even then Volvo did a better job with the new emissions gobbledegook..
