No he's not bragging yet. If he said he didn't have to pay for it he'd be bragging

    I lost a bet.

But seriously. It's something I always wanted to do. I'm not working in the area I really want to be in but everyday I gain more experience so I hope to be getting closer.

Maybe a better question to ask is why starter companies have a driver turnover rate of over 100% . Why are so many drivers quitting ?
The reasons many drivers here started no longer exist . Many decided to be drivers to enjoy the freedom of making their own choices and work unsupervised . Those days are gone . EOBR's report drivers' every move and drivers are told where to fuel , how much fuel to buy , how much to idle , and how slow to drive .

I got into it after another career I had planned on tanked. Figured I'd do it just long enough 'till a better job came along. That was over 20 yrs ago..lol. Face your fears and give it a try. You might just like it and if not..you sure wouldn't be the first to say "it ain't for me"..

I originally started in trucking, and have had two other career changes. Since getting laid off again I am back in trucking. The plus side is there is normally work available which is why I am back. The downside is until you get a couple of years experience it is difficult to get a job with good pay and home time, though some have managed to do it. If you can manage to get through your first year, things start to open up. Though there is a long line of people entering trucking but there appeaars to be a long exit line as well. If you are reliable and safe, have a good atttitude and can stand a flexible schedule which may not include a lot of home time to start, then it may be for you.
Economists predict a 10-20% growth in trucking over the next 10 years. Good Luck.

    newbietrucker007 and Shakey71 Thank this.
