A gps runs off satelites. It can be wrong. Go to any major city, in the main part of the cities and see if you dont lose signal. Why? No connection with satelites. An atlas shows roads that have been verified to exist. They dont put it on the map unless the road is there.
I am 35. People would say I am of the new school trucking. I ran with an atlas and customer directions. You know how many times I got lost in 2 years? 1 and that was cause the sign for the road I needed was knocked down. (Btw we had company gps unit running in the truck, never picked up on it either.)
Each person is going to be different in how they do things. My uncle ran otr 40 years. Not once did he use gps. I dont use gps. There are others that do. I just dont trust it. Now, in my car its different can I am in a vehicle that is small enough to turn around in.
