I heard (second hand) that UPS laid off drivers after Christmas.

When I got pulled into a a weight station for an inspection the officer said he picked a UPS truck so now he picked me because of the company I work for. The UPS driver told him about the lay offs.

Nope. Wells are crankin right now out around Caldwell and down around Kenedy too I believe. West Tx too. I found out today that I guess we're down a driver, and we have extra trucks. I run flatbed, not really a sand guy. Shoot me a pm with your # and I'll talk with my boss in the AM and find out the details.

If that job doesn't pan out seriously come on out. Im hauling crude and cashing checks that would make your senior linehaul guys envious. There is tons of work here and lots of options to choose from in eastern new mexico and west texas. There is great money in sand and water too.

A word of caution though. Stay away from Xcalibur in Jal. You can make good money with them. I did. But the equipment is the worst I have ever seen.

All depends on freight volume mixed with company profit reports. Think they overhired to make numbers look good for the holiday season.
Big cities can keep people running while the smaller yards usually cut staff. Its one of those hard to hang on jobs in the beginning depending on location. I spoke with a supervisor and before peak 3 people left within x amount of months. Some with 2-3 years in. Its not for everyone.
