Got my CDL Permit today..

Congrats Celtic! I just earned my Class 1 (Canada) today as well and feeling pretty good. Excuse my ignorance here, but what do you mean by "hopefully they will do an equally good job with the driving skills"? Isn't that required to get a CDL?

 

what are we talking about.....i seem to have forgotten, so i must be that 1/10th %....?????

 

Ah, okay. Works basically the same way up here except all of the terminology is different, lol.

 

It should work the same way in all 50 states !!!!

That was the purpose of implementing the CDL !!!!!!!!

 

I'm not from any state. The system here in Canada works differently. In the U S of A you receive a second license (CDL), right? Up here we can legally only have one licence, and the "class" is modified to reflect the highest grade vehicle one is permitted to operate. My "Class 1" includes "Class 5" vehicles (car, etc.) Only exception is that a class 6 (motorcycles) requires a separate test (yet is still just another endorsement, for lack of a better term, on the original licence).

Congrats! I picked up my CDL permit just two days ago. It felt great too! Today I added hazmat, doubles/triples and tanker endorsements. I just hope when it comes time for the license exam, I don't forget any of it!
