They didn't used to be in Canada after certain hours, of course that was in the 90's. The situation may have changed by now, lol...

Driver here the problem ur gonna have. One was it on an inspection report? if not its NOT a big big deal but still is a DEAL! if its on a inspection report it dont matter if u get that ticket dismissed it still counts on CSA. If you ever get pulled over again and u think hes cutting u a break by not giving u a ticket and only an inspection report and its listed on there why you got pulled over. Your still getting CSA points. If you are with a Mega carrier i would prepair for worst. Most companys WILL fire you over 10mph check ur handbook. That ticket will rack up there csa points to no end.

So are you looking to switch companies because of that ticket or was this a decision reguardless? You were traveling 12 miles over the posted speed limit so I don't think, this will be a reckless charge.I think 15 over is considered reckless. It's a requirement that you tell your company about the ticket.I think right now you should just stay there .Alot of ppl get tickets everyday and many of them are still at that company.I think right now you may have a tough time finding work and you cannot keep this ticket hidden because companies will find out.Was this in Calif?I ask because you said no jakes allowed.
mje Thanks this. -
Trying to explain that you needed extra speed to get up the grade will not work. We know it's better that way but most of us know it's also against the law and I'm sure you knew too. So how will it effect you- just stop and think about it for a second. You have two drivers applying for a job ,one has a clean record and the other has a speeding ticket.
You've got a long way to go with your career so it might be better to slow down and work for a clean record. Sorry for the facts but a clean record is worth it's weight in GOLD. -
NO mention of an inspection, so NO points involved.
Is CSA the new "mantra" for the Chicken Littles of the industry. "the Sky is falling, CSA is here, the sky is falling CSA is here".Ghost Ryder and cableclown Thank this. -
I used interstate trucker to fight a driving on shoulder ticket at the port of Oakland. Total cost was $900 since I actually had to show up to court in Oakland with attorney. Once the CHP officer saw me sitting with my attorney he just dismissed the case.
You can start by writing a letter to the clerk or judge explaining the situation and how at no time were you putting the motoring public around you at risk. I had a student hand write a letter to the judge in Spokane Washington when he got a ticket for blowing past the weigh station there. Ticket was dismissed and all it cost him was the price of a stamp. -
This comment will be moaned and groaned about but check into a trucker attorney or any attorney that deals with moving violations. There's large places like TVC or local guys that you might see a sign for or can find on the Internet.
In some cases you can have the points dropped off the citation. You will still pay a fine but at least you can keep a clean record.
My buddy was cited for 65 in a 55 and hired an attorney. The charge was dropped to a non moving violation so he paid a larger fine but got no points. In the end it was around $700 but that's a small price for no points. -

A driver from our company walked away from a written warning for 63 in a 45 through the WB I10 construction zone in Tucson. My father in law repowered with him in Gila Bend, AZ and saw proof of the warning.. I asked him if that driver spit or swallowed because that's the only way I can think of that he got out of that ticket.
