My mom got a ticket in the mail for this from Salem, OR. Problem with it was the car didn't even look like hers and she was in Florence, OR with me when the picture was taken. We had receipts and credit card statements to prove it. She sent in copies of her receipts, credit card statements and a picture of her car with her sitting in it and the license plate clearly readable along with a scanned copy of the ticket photo.
She never showed up in court. They dropped it.

MM, Not sure how things work where you got the ticket at, but around here a red light ticket from a camera doesn't count as a moving violation. Here you send in your 75 dollars and it doesn't go on your record.
These tickets are more about generating revenue than anything else.kickin chicken and MM_Nemesis Thank this. -
I don't even want to set myself up in that situation TF82. I was doing some research on my break from the drivin range and you're right...it is there for mainly revenue purposes. I would imagine that if I got pulled over by an actual police officer that would be a different story right?
Quick sidenote question for you or rest of forum...do you know if an infraction like this although not on my MVR, would affect my auto insurance? I kind of wanna keep an out of mind, out of sight approach with them and not draw attention to myself.
LOL. I will just pay and not do it again. I'd really hate to lose 100.00 but do I really wanna drag this thing out and take time off from work and school to hire a lawyer and put myself in a deeper hole? Naaah.. 100.00 would be a discount more I think about that scenario..

I think because the "redlight" tickets are just on camera and not actually caught by an actual officer, is the reason they don't go against your driving record.
It seems they are also required to post a sign saying its a filmed intersection
Like I said its just for revenue generation. By me, some towns have cameras on every street, while other towns don't have any. -
