Yup...with the attitude, you just hand them the rope, they do the rest.
Unfortunatly i think we all could see where this thread was going..
Trucking companies want to hire responsible people....the best indicator of this is how you have conducted your life in the past...
Companies need emotionaly mature drivers that will not get mad and do brash things in a fit of anger...folks who will treat their customers with respect.
They need folks with common sense, and a head screwed on...
This job can get to all of us, but staying level headed is 100% needed...driving a 80,000 truck in a fit of road rage would be a disaster....

    Tazz and Marksteven Thank this.

The reason you were asked about your location pertains to what type of Freight if or any freight lanes are in your area. if you live in what everyone calls a hole in the wall with no major Mfg. or suppliers off a major route, getting a job without significant exp. would be an issue with anyone.

I'm 21 years old and located in a prime freight location. Currently in CDL school, I already have 4 (choice) company's interested in hiring me, 2 of which I have already received pre-hire letters from. I have a clean driving record, adequate work history, and no criminal history. The following are my observations and opinions:

Age only limits you to certain companies, but there are still several decent national companies that are willing to hire those of us under 23. (You should be willing to accept an OTR position.)

Location definitely determines the type of job(s) available to you. (local, regional, tanker, OTR, etc...)

Criminal, driving, and work history can & will make you unemployable, as will a negative or arrogant attitude.

While I cannot hope to judge one's character through typed messages, the OP may consider re-evaluating his demeanor and/or career choice. His is a perfect example of how our actions - past present & future - have consequences.
