As I stated earlier, I’m running aftermarket parts now, and so far no problems.
I’m not an around town guy, I run out of WV to NY, Texas, Florida and think nothing of it. I’ve had decent experience with aftermarket parts, just not a fan of PAI head gaskets.
I’m not far from pulling the knobs one last time, over 37 years now driving these trucks and the fun is long gone. Just glad I got to experience things such as air assist steering, wig wags, twin sticks, and torsion bar rear suspension before they became a novelty.
Would like to finish the 3406 7FB and put a few miles on the Aerodyne K100 before I quit completely though, kinda go out the way I started in a sense….

The gaskets that came in the PAI kit back during the pandemic were not a 1 piece gasket. Was having trouble finding parts because of shipping at that time. My experience the green water grommet seals don’t last as long as the original Cummins. Good thing about the 855 & N14, they use the same head gasket.
I found a mechanical N14 from a local guy, been talking to him about it. It’s complete with Jakes which is a plus. Actually entertained putting the 7FB in my W900, but hate to transgender the K100 with a Cummins since it came factory with a 3406A. My W900 is a factory glider, it don’t know what it is lol….

I see the difference. I’ve never seen that style from pai that looks like the ones fp diesel sells and they do seem ####ty. All the pai ones I’ve had are the one piece job just like the Cummins. I wonder if pai was having fp make them for a short time

Not sure on who actually made them. When I order the kit I was told they were having problems getting everything from one individual vendor. Was told the parts came from multiple places but was delivered in 1 big box from PAI. I’ve used quite a few parts from Interstate McBee with no real issues, but try to use Cummins for head gaskets and parts such as a new accessory drive gear which was $600 then. The new vibration damper came from Cummins as well but don’t remember what it cost…. -
