Yeah there is some truth here and I have learned a lot but I have found that you have to weed through the winers and complainers. There are people in all professions that will never be happy no matter what the conditions. By the way, I hope your teaming is going well with the boyfriend and 2 dogs!:dog::dog:

    Better go with tanker/hazmat.
Which city/state do you live in?
    Flatbed would be second choice.
Third choice would be logistics reefer.

You were lucky to get started hauling tanks ,if you really want to complain haul freight & go deliver to some food whse. & you will fall all over your self to get back in a tanker! & unless you are getting hub miles you are losing out, you havent been driving long enough to know what you got! remember:The grass may be greener on the other side, but there is guaranteed to be a pile of crap in it somewhere!:biggrin_25516:

Personally, iof you want a career i would say Union/non union LTL. Its the only way to fly, you also can maintain a personal life/relationship.
Linehaul is the way to go but local Peddle isnt bad, ive been doing it in the same city for 17 years. It is work though. I know a few that lasted with YRC and conway for less than 3 months and hung it up. If you peddle LTL your backing skills should be in the Top 95%. No time for 2-3 pullups trying to get in a dock. Pay for hours worked is hard to beat.

    ok
what does ltl entail and can you name some good companies ?
i learned fast that recruiters will say anything to get you in there
its really stupid the way these companies act
driver turnover is a big expense for companies
so why do they play these games ?
drivers know they are in high demand
and can find another job tommorow

I have decided not to team with Ray because of the pay.Sometime after April ill be starting to look for a tanker company.Reasons I havent looked now is because I still have yet to renew my license and endorsements and the company im at now will be ending my job within the next few months.Don't know exactly when yet but I do know the time is drawing near.So im just waiting it out till then. The original plan was tht ray and I team but I don't think I could handle what companies pay teams.I'm worth more then that.Actually we're all worth much more then what companies pay but thats one of many disadvantages one has to put up with if they wanna stay in trucking.

    actually tanker isnt too bad
    not very physical
    couple hoses or fittings
and knowing how to pump things off
only problem is in the details of how they are supposed to pay you
    and dont
    washout , layover and detention
not near as physical as say flatbed
but you gotta watch your ###
    real unstable load

about the best you can do is cryogenic tanker as a company driver not a third party contractor driver..with 1 year I doubt they would take you but if you could get in most all companies mileage/hourly can expect 65k-90k...may have to get a couple more years under your belt first..may try gasoline for a couple years then try for cryogenic job?....just my opinion

    Cman301 and pattyj Thank this.
