That is why you do not give 2wk notices, you will not get same respect. Ever been told, it's not working out, We're going to let you go in two weeks? Of course not, it's a one way street and has nothing to do with professionalism, if it did, the companies would do it. They just want from you what they're not willing to give you in return, so, bottom line, you screwed yourself out of 2 weeks pay, live and learn. Merry Xmas!

What's Xmas? A failed holiday invented by Vince McMahon to go up against the actual Christmas? Come on man, is going to kill ya to cough up five more letters? Its the least you could do. Look at all he's done for us.

This exactly why I don't give a two weeks notice u less the company is worth coming back for think about it this way if the company were to go under would they give u a 2 week notice hell no ur gone I have been driving for 3 years have had 5 jobs laid off from 4 of them so screw a two weeks notice unless it's a good company

    This argument cracks me up.

X is the Greek letter chi, which is also the first letter of Christ.
A letter so exclusively related to Christ that in early Christianity the letter X was commonly used as a symbol to represent the name of Jesus.
This is especially true when Christians were forced to secrecy due to the Roman Empire trying to kill them all, and is also where the fish became a symbol of Christianity that is still widely used today.

The term Xmas really isn't any different than Christmas with some history of religion.

Kind of a long winded way to say christ..but I'll take it my friend. Merry Christmas! I'm sure everyone using X is way up on the roman alphabet. What was I thinking?

You're right that #### near no one probably knows the history behind that. But it does make it hard to say keep Christ in Christmas dont use "Xmas" when you know the history behind it.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to all however it has to be said. The celebration is still in the name of Christ.

Happened a few times to me, I just file for unemployment and enjoy the two weeks off. Most if not all states will give you unemployment because you were terminated and if they ask, you start a new job in two weeks and only two weeks.

Back in 2006, I gave 6 weeks notice at the job that I was working at. I was working at a convenience store/gas station earning $8.47 an hour after 10 years on the job, (2/25/1996 - 9/17/2006).

I had to leave Wichita KS to return to Hartford CT to help my 2 sisters care for our elderly mother. She passed away about a year later.

Believe it or not, the station manager, the station assistant manager, along with the rest of the station employees, treated me DISDAINFULLY for the remainder of those 6 weeks.
I was TRYING to be courteous and professional.
My thinking was that I could POTENTIALLY return to that same job in the future. It did NOT happen.
At the time I did all this, I was 49, about 3 weeks shy of turning 50.

    Fast Forward:
After being out of work for 7 months, (9/18/2006 - 4/16/2007), I was able to find another job at a major retail chain. I have been there since 4/17/2007, over 8 years. I currently earn $9.97 an hour plus benefits. From time to time, I do receive overtime.

$9.97 an hour is the highest wage that I have ever earned in my life. I started receiving it as of 10/8/2015. This was 1 week after my 59th. birthday. TRUTHFULLY speaking, I have nobody to blame except myself. At the same time, I thank the good Lord upstairs that I have this job.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Nope you did not get fired, you gave notice of two weeks, and employer waived that two weeks, you still quit
