    I would highly recomment running a wire from your antenna mount to the truck's frame. My Cascadia's typical transmit range went from .5 mile to 3 with just that

    The Uniden with the stock mic should work fine with the proper antenna and coax.

    I was recently put into a '12 Volvo with a 4' antenna on each mirror. I know for a FACT this radio, in this truck, with this setup, is getting out 3 miles and receiving more than that.

    PLUS... I like it much better than that Cobra. That Cobra had too many darn lights on it. I was wondering why I was squinting while driving at night with it on!

    All the Uni has on it is the number lit up.
    I'm quite happy with it. Glad I didn't drop $100 on somethin that $25 is doing just fine with.
