Bull crap. If I want to pass a truck that's doing 57 I will put my signal on, check my mirror and pass that truck and I will do it at 62. You do not have the god given right to occupy the left lane. Keep right except to pass....not keep right if you're doing under the limit. Good grief the stupidity is everywhere.

I agree with that but I will say if you dont have at least 2mph on the one ahead of you. You should wait for a better opportunity. There you have 5 and will be around in less than a mile no biggy. Its the 5 miles later still not around thats bs and should have never taken place.

Another bad myth. The autobahn trucks are limited to 50 mph with serious tickets for going over, yet the cars do 100+ mph. Their accident rates are lower than ours.

I have to agree, but there's a spot and a place. This mentality that you need to be doing 70+ to be in the left lane is just ridiculous. I bet these are the same jerks that have no problem passing right when 5 cars are coming down the onramp. No consideration at all.

And look how short that is compared to the interstates we drive in any given state. And at 50 with huge fines I doubt there is a lot of passing going on with them trucks. I dont know but just a guess oh and people attitudes are different there as well that I do know

That would be something like this:

Slow driver - monitor your mirrors and shoulder activity well in advance. If there's a problem on the shoulder use your turn signal early. If there's a slow vehicle in front use your brain rather than cutting off fast lane driver. It's not a huge deal to slow down 3-5 mph for a while waiting for an opening.

Fast driver - same thing applies to you, it's not always a huge deal slowing down for a while to wait for things to clear up. Don't be pushy. Respect our turn signals because you can't always see what's on the shoulder. Try not to pass during onramps. If we need to move over WE NEED TO MOVE OVER! Nobody has a "right" to go 70-75 mph all day long.

Simple, easy and rational. Unfortunately you will have better luck achieving a lasting peace in the middle east.
