That's a ticket in some states. 70 was relatively slow back 30 yrs ago.

Oldironfan Thanks this.

I've read stories about some carriers not allowed in certain states unless they could reach triple digit speeds. This was back in the 70s out west. Idk.

jgarciajr40 and peterbilt_2005 Thank this. -
When I was a company driver we had unlimited trucks.
The boss called me once and asked me to go some other place, then he says fast as you can.
And I said back to him, ‘yup, fast I as can, 100 clicks’ (100kph or about 62 mph).
So even when I worked at places where I could go as fast as I wanted, all I ever did was 62 mph.
Other guys would say to me their trucks go 85 or 95 mph . And they would ask me how fast my truck went. And I said, same as every truck I drove, 62 mph.
I will go faster to complete a pass, but that rarely happens anyway. -
@Oldironfan remember the days of no speed limit. "Reasonable and prudent"

i would be happy if they would remove all prime trucks from the interstate.
speedyk, Bob Dobalina and road_runner Thank this. -
I turned mine down to 70 on cruise 75 on pedal for passing. ...... us express seems to be at 69 and it's quite obvious that they don't give a mental evaluation for hiring. .... I think they are the fastest of the mega carriers. ...... 68 is probably the best speed but I run the speed limit getting above 70 really burns the fuel

Werner is at 68, their trucks blow my doors off all the time unfortunately lol
