Lol I know right?? I just wanna climb up on the soapbox and knock some heads together good grief man
Back in the day I ran a truckin outfit out in the oil patch in nd and you pretty much hadda have the outlaw mentality, or at least have a clue, or it just didn't work. Every now and then I'd accidentally hire guys that came across good but then they'd get all legal on me. 'Law says I get a 15 minute break every four hours' or 'this is government lease property it's illegal not to Davis bacon my pay' it was real easy to figure out a way to get rid of them guys.
Moral of the story is truckers got too much time to think. Specially new truckers with a lease.Badmon, Nitemare13 and Straight Stacks Thank this. -

Scotty you're an idiot. I ask a tax classification rules question. You come back with a WWE smack down answer. That's about your level of intelligence I supposeT_TRUCKER. Thanks this.

Guys will debate that back and forth. In my opinion you are an owner operator. The carrier you may be leasing from is taking on an additional position, that of the finance company.
Your pay, insurance requirements and so on are all the same as an O/O that has outside financing. A lot of times a carrier is on the hook to front repair cost if a leasing O/O can't cover the repairs. They can't simply say, sorry can't help you out. They've got some skin in the game.
Yes it does present a challenge should you choose to leave that carrier. You'd have to secure your own outside financing to take the truck unless you negotiated a reasonable exit strategy before signing and it's in writing.T_TRUCKER. Thanks this. -
Ok you got me. I'm speechless.

By the way for all you buttholes out there. As far as lease is concerned if I made the same money as a company driver line five would be reason enough for me to lease. I make considerably more than a company driver btw. I cleared over 90k after taxes last year. That's more than those Walmart ads your hearing and I take my ###### truck home with me
GoGetta07 Thanks this. -
I'm sure now I'll here about everyone's golden unicorn company job where they clear $200k and fly their rig into outer space for home time. Go ahead I'm ready to hear about your ####ing company job
