I have 14 of them. All of them do some of your requirements. None of them do all of your requirements. <sigh>

Now if we could get one of the to listen then we could get the ones that matter the most.

    Fast response time.
    Truck routes 98% or better.
    Low bridges always
    Accurate address always
    Accurate lanes and exits always

I've been driving for a long time and these are the one that matter the most. The rest if they get them half right is okay. But the others have to be right.

Okay let me put this another way. What GPS do like the most. Keep trucking in mind.

Oh I agree with you that your points would define truck GPS utopia, but the database that would satisfy 4 of your five requests doesn't EXIST. To have 100% positionally correct data for EVERY square foot of real estate in the country (not to mention our fellow drivers from the great white north) would require that a map-making company be aware of every completed construction project daily, every federal, state, and local road regulation change daily, and every activity that may temporarily close a road or exit daily. And you'd have to update the unit daily if that database did exist. Having been deeply involved with truck attribute GPS technology from early in its infancy I'm somewhat able to declare that it is at this point, a teenager (effective and often makes good decisions, but capable of throwing a keg party when you are out of town.)

The upside is that, like their teenager, most users would rather HAVE their teenager than give it up - most, but not all. And further good news is that it continues to grow up quickly.

I did buy the Rand Mcnally 500. little cheaper, I like it, the truck tools are handy, especially the state millage, and log timers... It does have its routing quirks, but so does my Garmin I have in my car... All and all I like it, it has found some way out of the way places that I either load or pick up at.....
Have a good New Year everyone.... Be safe ..

You're doomed. There is no such beast. Both Navtech and Tele-atlas are the two providers of map datum and both run a least six months to a year behind. And then there is the rapidly changing routing of truck traffic, construction etc to consider which can contribute to in-accurate truck specific over-lays.

Best bet in my mind is to find the one with the best support and buy it.

I have the new Cobra 7750. And so far, it's awesome...Big screne, lots of new features that the 7700 didn't have. Plenty of options.. It tells you how far you are from the next truck stop & weight station. Easy to navigate..

That would be a nice feature. Give a person a goal to shoot for, especially in areas you are unfamiliar with.
