A low bridge that would hit a chemical tanker?

If that were the case....He'd deserve to go to jail because it would be about windshield height.

I'm not saying the trooper did anything wrong, the driver screwed up and has to take responsibility. The problem is how the judge handled the matter. He jailed the driver because he assumed the company would just pay the fine without question. This was an overweight situation, not a criminal action. Impound the truck if you must, not the driver. We've all been hit with over weight situations or know of someone who has. In fact FMCSA has removed overweight from the CSA and usually it carries no points since it's not a moving violation.

I remember a driver telling about making the mistake of driving a hazmat load through Columbus OH instead of taking the bypass. He got hit hard, but no jail time. It just cost him a small fortune to get his truck back. He didn't make excuses for his screw-up. He was tooling along and forgot he was pulling hazmat, point is any of us can screw up, especially around Pittsburgh.

I want to know how he was stupid enough to get off and take the wrong roads... I've picked up near where he was trying to go (I went to the power plant along the river west of morgantown)... All you have to do is take PA21 right off of I79 and you'll basically run right into carmichael.

I guess some drivers will always amaze us.

I used one driving when I was driving OTR as well,I have to wonder what GPS he had, must have not been a CMV unit.
My Garmin lights up like the 3rd world war is starting when I even get close to going on a restricted route.
He was a tool for being there no doubt.:biggrin_2552:
