We have a Garmin DEZL 780 LMT and it will make a noise SOMETIMES when there's a weigh station coming up. But we also you smart truck route 2 on our tablet and it will announce all truck stops and weigh stations its just not up to date very well does anyone know if there is a gps that announces weigh stations instead of just a beep? Any advice is much appreciated. Hope everyone that reads this has safe travels. Thanks

I use a fantastic strategy to see if a weigh station is coming up.. Its called paying attention to my surroundings .. If your wanting to know if weigh stations are open just use a free app like truckers path

My Garmin posts a note at the top on weigh stations. But it’s usually a couple miles in advance.
My people net doesn’t announce either. Does post a screen on what to do. Bypass or ??? ...Peoplenet is real nice and tells me to bypass rest stops also. :)

In addition I use another fantastic strategy. It is called PrePass. And yet another strategy, running legal.

If you need an announcement, your GPS isn’t the issue.

Most drivers need an announcement to wake them up from the zone. So they don’t miss weigh stations, exits, turn, etc

    Don’t drive in the zone.

You mean we shouldn't ride down the roads, oblivious to our surroundings, completely dependent on cattleprods and idiot lights?

You can tell who doesn't have one when they're passing you in the "all trucks use right lane" zone.

    Rand McNally tablet has it.

    tarmadilo and tscottme Thank this.

After my first few years of going back and forth, up & down the lower 48, I pretty much knew where the truckstops were at that I would want to stop at. A pocket truckstop guide will come in handy too.

    Lepton1 and Coover Thank this.
