I have CoPilot AND Streets and Trips. Generally, if one program can't find what I'm looking for, the other can.

I called TomTom customer service and was told the units do not have an option to record miles driven from point A to point B. It only calculates the miles to BE driven if you punch in the locations. He put it in his notes to ask them to include that option in their updates.

Also, I mentioned truckers using the devices and he said that they are currently working on truckers routes now, but he didn't know when the updates would be ready.

im using copilot 11 i liked copilot 9 (trucking version for both) better but once you get to know the quercks of 11 its solid software and if your going to use your laptop invest in a passenger side mount of some sort it keeps your laptop off the floor and within easy reach for that quick address change personlaly im using a cybertrucker stand its universall and can be swaped out to different trucks as your company buys new tracktor it only takes me about half an hour to install the stand whenever i get a new truck

My Garmin 660 will tell you that.

If you switch to the speed and mileage screen it shows miles traveled and miles to go. It also shows real time speed, average moving speed, overall speed (including stops), total time stopped, and greatest speed recorded (since reset).

I like the updated ETA it really helps me estimate how long it will take me to get to my destination, whether or not I have enough avaliable hours to accept a trip and how long I can sleep before I need to leave to assure I make my deadline.

While it's not perfect its routing is pretty solid and dependable. The main thing is it's a good idea to compare the local directions (after you leave the interstate) with the Qcom directions if there's any doubt follow the Qcom directions for the last few miles. My trip planning usually takes less than 60 seconds. Without my GPS my average trip planning takes about 15 minutes and sometimes 30 minutes if it's a 1800-2000 mile run. In an average week it saves me about an hour of planning time and I never miss turns. Without it I miss a turn about once or twice a week. I'd say it probably saves me about 2-3 hrs total time a week, reduces my stress tremendously and helps me preserve my career 100% on time record.

I believe the TomTom will also tell you that, but what I was hoping for was it telling you how many miles you've gone without punching in a destination. Does it do that?
I would like to say punch in my current location, then when I get there punch in that it was my last stop and have it give the total miles driven. If I remember correctly, the Streets & Trips program on my laptop does. But since I can't use it anymore it would be nice for the GPS to have that feature.

    Thanks.

It keeps a running track of how many miles you've driven since you last reset the trip meter, just like the old fashioned ones in your car's speedometer. Of course it only counts miles that you drive with the GPS turned on. If you want to keep track of how many miles you drive in a week you just reset the mileage counter at the beginning of the new week. The meter goes to 99,999.

    PeterbiltCouple Thanks this.
