Totally possible at Abilene... For awhile I was out 2-3 weeks at a time without pressure to stay out longer... I have been running longer lately but that's by my choice.

Brunswick MD, and the recruiter said that the NE route = home EVERY weekend (might be fri/sat, sat/sun, sun/mon.

I read a couple of your posts on the Abilene thread(s) and have to wonder HOW you're knocking down 700 mi in an 11 hour day.. do they NOT care about mpg?

TMC pays very well and home most weekends. It can be hard work at times, but flatbedding is never boring. Also very nice equipment.

Not only are they home every weekend but the ones bases out of the Richmond area are able to swing by home now and then during the week too... If you live close to your routes unofficial home time happens... Gotten a few nights at home like that myself.

As to 700 mile days, I have hit a few since being here at Abilene... Couple times during training and a couple times since then.

It's not so much about mpg but just rolling... The trucks are governed at 68 mph so over an 11 hour drive session it's totally possible... On the days when you only need to slow down for a couple cities and to take your 30 minute break. To be clear, I never hit 700 in the NE but rather heading out straight west or coming back east.

Yes, a strong work ethic and 700 miles is doable on long haul trucking doing west coast turns. The guys sitting in the truck stop tv lounge griping about how the dispatcher hates them will never see a 700 mile day.

to be clear, I can see 700 headed west. I do have to wonder at the promise of 3000/wk in NE...

Regarding TMC, I'm with you on the never boring thing, and that + the way they pay are what's

Ya... Let's not tell them about Abilene... Ok? ;)

    Wait, truck stops have lounges???
And what? They have TVs in there too???

Why did no one tell me about this???
I know there are fuel islands and showers.

I feel I messed a memo somewhere... LOL
