Sounds like things are going well for you and that you have a decent trainer too. Terrific. Keep up the good work!

    Howdy y'all!!
I am finally done with my first 5 week phase OTR!! yea me..
It was fun, challenging at times and well an experience.
My trainer and I got along..for the most part, a few arguments about our 2 different driving styles.
But all in all a good training experience.
Time for another orientation class then we are to be sent out for 3 weeks with another trainee.. Trainee/Trainee (dumb/dumber)...I am a little reserved about this phase, we are to be responsible for each others actions 100%... I mess up-he pays and he messes up I pay...just a little scary.

    Congratulations on completing phase one!

Don't be reserved about the next phase, be confident!

    Neil B Thanks this.

I thought Stevens did away with this. Either I misunderstood or it's back because the recruiter I spoke with yesterday said the finishing trainer is, in fact, a trainer, not another trainee. <Her husband is in that phase with Stevens now, which is how she knows.> Truth?

Stevens did away with D&D for about three years, but now has brought it back.
Personally, I think it's a poor idea, and it's probably back for budgetary reasons. There is more pressure on the original trainers now to cover more items, more carefully (such as trip planning).
Time will tell, but hopefully, Jr will lose out on this one and the finish training program will be brought back.

One week down in the trainee/trainee phase..not so bad..was fortunate enough to pair up with a fella from my school class. We are doing well on the road, learning from each other. Looking forward to getting my own truck!
Presently we are headed to Providence RI. Then who knows where!!
    Later all!! Keep safe!

I was considering Stevens as a potential candidate, but I don't like the idea of trainee/trainee teaming. Putting my life in the hands of someone who is as green as me is not an attractive proposition.

Then that's a good reason not to go to Stevens. Heck, you could get a trainer that loves to yell at you! :)
