The Trainee/Trainee option was brought back because they couldn't keep enough Finishing Trainers. Too many drivers got tired of all the 'know-it-alls' that were coming through the school and O1 and have stopped training or declined to move up to become a Finisher.

From what I understand it is an option, if you prefer you can wait around for a Finishing Trainer to become available.

    Back again ...
we are on our last week! Got some real driving experience in the Northeast. Wasn't bad tight turns, dumb drivers no different than anywhere else. Just glad to have the experience under my belt. We are currently headed to Michigan and then hopefuly(read fingers crossed) routed back to dallas.
Still enjoying the road. And the challenges. I think I am learning something new everyday.
Got a flat...got towed....drove in snow...drove in pea soup fog ...drove in high winds..driving rain..and sunshine...all in 2 days! Been fun.
I do have probably a real dumb question...
what are " chicken lights" ??
    Laugh first then answer..lol
    Cathedral y'all later!

Chicken lights are the trailers that have dozens of lights on them. They virtually outline the top, bottom and ends of the trailers.
Often the trailer is a bullwagon, but not always.
The drivers will also often replace the cargo lights with red bulbs or lenses and leave them on to highlight the front of the trailer as they blaze down the road at night.
The tractors are usually conventional Petes or KW's with plently of lights on them as well.

Any light out on the outside of the truck/trailer can be cited.

The real secret behind those lights is, well, brightness. There aren't enough if a police officer needs a flashlight to write his ticket at night or if he can stand the heat emanating from them. The more you have, the less likely he'll be able to find the one that's out way up there on the top ;)
