There is very little about them anywhere on the Net. All I can find is their website. I like to hear from drivers about a company.

    Did you like the dispatcher?

They offer part time work, which is a big part of why I'm looking into them.

I'd pass on them....seems to be too much bad talk from what I'm reading around the web. Not sure how they're doing it, but they seem to be ticking off enough drivers that they are generating bad press.

I have worked for GIX for 6 years, it is a well run company. If you can't work for them you can't work for anyone. I never touch freight unless I volunteer to. I have had three raises plus monthly fuel bonus. The escrow account is there to keep you from needing to dig into your pocket if you screw up. Most of the time I have a choice of loads. The owner himself grills meals for us several Fridays each year, his door is always open. If you have a problem with your truck, you let the shop know when you will be in, and they will fix it, you don't have to work with junk.

I currently drive for GIX, what would you guys like to know? We drive Freightliner Columbia's with an APU on board. I have a little over two years experience and make .38 cpm. We haul mainly reefer freight from Nebraska to the East Coast, then dry back to Nebraska. We also have very limited freight going as far west as Denver/Cheyenne. As mentioned above, the shop fixes everything you tell them about. GIX is a good company to drive for and I would recommend them, however they do have a downside. They refuse to pay most toll roads and do NOT pay mileage for you to go around them. Drivers bring this issue to management constantly, and it falls on deaf ears. GIX has a 3.5 million mile driver that spoon-feeds mangement what they want to hear, and everyone else's opinions do not matter. They have open door here, but they will keep throwing the opinions of one driver in your face. Other than that, the office staff is nice and friendly. Dispatch is great compared to most trucking companies. You mention you need to go home and they do it. I moved from Iowa to Nebraska to be closer to the company, and I'm home every 6-10 days for a 34 hr reset. GIX is a decent company, and if anyone has any other questions, feel free to ask.
