Figured I would make a new post about them be upfront and honest.
Considering the last post I seen was in like 2009
Have been with them about 2 months now so still new so not much info on them yet but here is what I know.
Not the best company by far but not the worst.

    Bad points:
1.They do lie(I know hard to believe) Was told .34cpm make .31 oh,well no big deal
2.No pay for orientation (2 days) and no road test RED flag
3.A lot of short haul same day next day delivery
4.horrible equipment (at least what i drive is junk but passes the dot)
5.No reimbursement for scales or tolls
6.There shop is a joke unless its something that will stop you from moving forget about it being fixed except tire guy he is pretty good about getting tires
About it really still new to them but its a job atm would i recommend them...HELL NO!

    Good points so far:
1.home every weekend(sometimes not till sat. afternoon but its the weekend)

2.haul 90% john deere parts 80% drop and hook

    3.e-logs (love/hate with them still)

4.They pretty much go by the book log book wise(so far)

5.Not making a killing but its a check. That's about all I have to say about them so far but like i said still new here so will post more later.

Another note: Some of the drivers here...wow down right scary(driving wise I mean) but think that's everywhere and some of them dam, good drivers

Please keep in mind would not label them as a horrible company but not great I would say one of the cheapest company's out there for sure

Thanks reefer, I have never heard of a company not road testing new drivers and you are right that is a huge red flag.

Yeah, that's what I thought to but needed a job asap still looking just hate changing jobs.Going to try and stick it out but if things get were it can't pass D.O.T. then guess its back to the farm or factory for awhile (C.S.A. score is really bad mine that is bad local company years ago long story short)I never heard of a company not giving road tests either except for my first job and he only had 2 trucks so not really a company lol

Well, sorry have not posted much been busy with these little short hauls. And still learning about the company I know one thing don't make much money here but better then welfare by maybe a penny or two.
I did learn one thing they will hire about any idiot off of the street with a c.d.l. just had to help a guy at the yard had his airlines on backwards(blue to red red to blue) thought he had an air leak then could not figure out how to get the tractor headlights on...yeah scary I know. And he was going out by himself no trainer just got out of truck driving school:biggrin_2556:

I have never worked for them, But i did recover one of there Tractors and a Dry van of theres that was involved in a fatal accident here in Wisconsin last Nov.

It sat in our yard for a few months while the lawyers worked it out, And in the end, The driver that was driving it that night came to retreive it. I asked him how he was doing, and he said that Grey gave him a nice job in the shop, As they didnt think he really wanted to be on the road...
(Which I thought was pretty cool of them as a company)

The fatality WASN'T the Grey drivers fault...Weather was... That intersection is flawed by design...lots of accidents there.

And as far as Grey's equipment is concerned, Wi State patrol went over it twice with a fine tooth comb, And it passed with flying colors.

So, I'm not so sure i'd say its a horrible place

    reefer75 Thanks this.

Yeah like I said before not horrible just not the greatest either but then on the other hand never seen one that is great.
As far as the equipment passing idk maybe I just got spoiled by driving nicer trucks and trls.
As far as the meat side of gray I have no idea how that is yet only hear say to be honest hope I never have to haul that.
All I can really say about them so far not big on complaining about the small stuff at least I try not to

    Be safe

They have a 90.5% on "Vehicle Maintenance"---that means (for all intents and purposes) that 9.5% of ALL trucking companies licensed to run Interstate/Intrastate have a worse score. You be the judge on their equipment. LOL!!!

Say hello to LeRoy, Darrin, and Margo Gray next time you're in there. LOL! God do they suck.
