I used to grease everything at 2 weeks except for throwout bearing. That would be about 6,000-6,500 miles. But anymore it takes me a month to turn that many miles so I grease everything once a month then change the oil around 12,000 miles. My kingpins are original with over 1.1 million miles. There is no such thing as overgreasing. You want things to last or you want to be replacing them before their time?

I also do this myself but I do it every two weeks and yes I over do it and while I'm down there I adjust my brakes and check that everything is OK I dont mind it I guess I'm just used to it

I have a pistol grip grease gun. works well. once a week on driveline and steering. 10000 miles at oil change grease everything. I would rather spend that $20 to $30 on cold beer than have a truck stop miss half of the zerks.

I also grease my truck myself and I also don't like it. But I would rather grease my truck and know that it is all greased than have some missed fittings. I also do all my own mechanic work so the more I grease the less I replace. So I would rather grease than tear down and replace parts that could have lasted longer if I would have taken the time to grease myself. I have 860,000 on my truck and have the original king pins, drag link and tie rods.

I did it this morning, it is a messy job cant say I enjoy it. I get the PM job at speedco every 10k miles, so I do it between oil changes.
