Not only do you have to re take the haz test I believe you have to pay for the background check again as well.

 

Things are going good. I got real lucky and hooked up with a good company. I have been real busy even though this is supposed to be the "slow time of the year".

Thanks man. I shot you a pm with a couple of questions.

 

Drifter it's that way anywhere you go unless you are hauling OTR, you have to switch your CDL to your new state of residency, and retake the Hazmat test and get a whole new background check. It's a great racket they have going as all of the background check companies are private (read kicking back) and your check will run you close enough to a hundo to call it that.

 

Oh well each state has to get their slice of the pie.

 

This is off topic, but what footwear are you Texas drivers wearing? Someone recommended steel toe Muck boots in the ND forum, but I don't know if they might be too warm in Texas. Plus you guys don't get the slushy springs there and might not need the water proofing.

I wear steel toe'd leather boots with a good griping sole. Mine are lace up and next pair will be slip ons for sure!

 

You all know that it gets hotter than a firecracker in the summertime down there.

 

I don't know who told you that crap. Springtime is rainy season. Have been in drought recently but there are normally some good rains and the occasional tornado outbreak. And there have been many severe floods in S TX. Most occur after hurricane or tropical storm comes off gulf. It is like any farm land and can get very muddy. Normally will dry out much quicker than ND.

 

95-100 is normal. Again last yr was freak. Many days over 100. Closer to Gulf you are the higher the humidity. Midland/Odessa much drier. 100 and 20% humidity feels a lot better to me than 92 and 50% in E and S TX. Just depends on what you prefer and how bad you want to succeed. Spent 14 months in Iraq and 15 in Afghanistan so none of them are too bad. At least you can go shop, eat, play where you want. I forgot about Victoria being so close to Shiner. That is one good point if you like great beer.
