Great Lakes TDS ohio

Today I got my CDL after attending Great Lakes TDS. My experience is simular to pxpx's. I'd like to add my insight of the school as well. First off I think it's a great school. All the instructors have a ton of knowledge and experience. I made a good choice when I picked this school. I was well prepared when I went to test today. With that being said, let me throw a few more things out;

Instructors.
If you are thin skinned, can't take some ribbing, and want to be coddled, then this isn't the school for you. (probaly isn't the right profession for you either). The instructors are REAL professional truck drivers. Not if, but WHEN you screw up on the road, voices will be raised. They have a short time to convey all the knowledge they can. They are blunt and direct.

Facilities
The classrooms are more than adequate. Good multi-media. However, they keep the temp at about 65 degrees. I suspect it's to keep the students from getting sleepy. (worked for me).
Pratice Yard. It is not paved. I'm told it's a dust bowl in the Summer. Being the strange warm Winter we are having here in the Midwest, it was a giant mud pitt. The upside to that is, when I went to test today, it seemed alot easier. After practicing in the mud, a paved course with highly visible cones and lines made me feel like I had an unfair advantage to other school's students.

Also wanted to mention that we had SEVERAL of the big name company recruiters come by and give us their pitch. The school is well connected and readily accepted by the major carriers. If you don't have a stack of pre-hires before you leave, then you haven't tried or applied.

Overall my experience was GREAT. After completion I was more than ready for my test. Made some great friends and memories. I highly recommend this school.:smt023
