Fun fact. That US 33 run is actually a truck route, as well. It is NOT fun at night. I kicked myself the whole time for not zooming in on the GPS before committing to it. And yes, I checked the atlas first, it didn't look too bad there.

No. Ducati has never produced a bike with shaft final drive.

The ST3 was a second-generation of their Sport Touring line. First was the the ST2 & ST4 which denoted 2-valve or 4-valve head. The ST3 has a 3-valve head; two intake, one exhaust. Sadly they discontinued the line in 2008. This one is a 2006 and is my second one. I had a 1998 ST2 before.

British Columbia, especially the central-south interior is littered with spectacular roads for riding; Salmo-Creston, Nakusp, Nelson, Kaslo, Kelowna, Penticton, etc. There are several "loops" of up to 400-500 miles that can keep one very occupied.

This is cool. I've always wanted to learn how to ride. I found a cool bike I like but it is not beginner friendly. I like the Yamaha VMAX. It's pretty sweet. Perfect hybrid between sporty and classic. Maybe one day I'll go for it. I'd love to enjoy some of those wonderful routes on a motorcycle. I bet it will be a heck of an experience. Specially coming from a truck lol. I'm just afraid I might not enjoy it as much since with a CDL I gotta always be watching the speed :(

I had an '88. I bought it new... upgraded from a Yamaha XS400. I loved that bike... very well mannered in the city, but would tear the balls off a 'vette if you twisted hard enough.

When you're on a bike it's easy to forget about speed altogether.
My speedo doesn't even work right. Reads 60 when I'm doing 50 and so on. I could fix it but when I ride I just ignore the speed and ride somewhere between having fun and being comfortable lol
Never had a problem with the law yet.

I'm also on a cruiser. Having fun/riding comfortably on a sport bike would likely mean a lot of tickets for me.

I'll still probably do it sometime in the future. I mean a VMAX runs you 15-17k new.. I'll see when I can make that commitment.
