Well they started as quarter mile bikes. I researched a little bit of their history. Great bikes. It's a muscle bike. I have buddies who bought sport bikes and I literally googled "fastest cruiser bike" and that came out, I liked the design and looked more into it and liked it. I want something comfortable but that can also keep up with them and I think I won't have a problem. If I had more money or knew how to ride already I could get a duccati diavel. Pretty sweet bike also.

The new Vmax looks like it has a lot better frame on it. The early models were too much motor, not enough frame. I had to do quite a bit of bracing on mine to tone down the death wobbles above 130 mph.
I had mine for 19 years. It went from very streetable, to only suitable for the drag strip in that time. I did occasionally cruise it on the street after the transformation but had to wear ear plugs and fight off the cops, lol. -
And $17k for a new one?!?! Holy cow... I paid $5800 for mine.

This is my current ride--a Yamaha XT250--street legal dirt bike.
austinmike and not4hire Thank this. -
Always wanted a Vmax, a first gen. Remember when they came out in '85.
