I wonder if you're talking about the Rand McNally "program"...because when I use their website, their miles are almost always more accurate than PCMiler...and the settings are "shortest" or "fastest"...using the "fastest" setting, it will always route to interstates if possible.
Titus is owned by one of the guys that used to be involved with ownership of Greatwide...supposedly not invloved with them anymore, but from the way they operate I'm guessing that is all one in the same somehow....
I work for Greatwide and it has not gotten in better sence the bought out the owners two years ago. On an off day I get up around 7a.m. and waite all day to around 3 or 4 for dispatch. Then when they call they inform me that they have no loads. Hears the good part. Then they tell me that they put me on a 8 to 9 p.m. list for morning loads that can leave anywhere form 1 to 7 in the morning. You being a O/O is worse but being a company driver we share common problems.
This company has gone downhill quickly.. They keep abusive managers around and with economy and jobs being so hard to find people have to suck it up. I have heard our TM cuss contractors threaten staff curse the women and make racial jokes all of which has been reported to HR and they do nothing. The money has gone down from 2300 miles per week to around 600 to 1000.. I keep hoping it will change but it looks like it will have to be me that does the changing.
greatwide is the worst place any man could ever lease onto you have to be buddy with somebody high up are just plain out be rich to get loads. Man lost his life early this week because he like anybody else had to be out there trying to make a good check , because he's been thier over the last four years without a raise and having to but a lot of hours in just to make 1,000 dallors. u might say why don't u guys find another job, but the thing of the matter is the work is good just the people who run things for dalles Tx down to the D.c. were is (CRL) it was the best somebody needs to interview some drivers from these down south d.c. and see what kind of story they can put in these national magaizes
I need an interpreter..So, someone was dumb enough to kill themselves over CHEAP FREIGHT ?? Is that the point ? And if you think "Time Magazine" gives a #### about truck drivers, then you don't know much about trucking or the media.
