Flippant or sarcastic comments regarding the obvious is no different than offering an ill-informed opinion about rules regulations or company policies.

Your concern, or opinion, that companies require "X" amount of US driving experience before attending school is not true. I have been assigned many "student drivers" when I was training/Mentoring that had never been behind the wheel of a 4 wheeler before attending truck school.

As for immigration/work visa/tourist visa/student visa....many have come here on a tourist visa and found employment then changed their visa status to "applied for" work visa.

I agree I don't know it all, but when it comes to immigration I have had a front seat view, as I am an immigrant myself. I gave the short version of what you are legally supposed to do, while backing it up with the Immigration website. I will not endorse the wrong way of doing it, because I believe that is not the way to come here. I have no clue that this back door idea would work, but would be worried I would be asked to leave and never come back if it didn't.

I was just reading yesterday where someone was posting that they had to have had a car license for a year or they would not get hired at some company. Can't find thread. I did not generalize but said may....so I don't believe I am giving bad info, but probably not complete info.

With all the tightening of rules, the multitude of Americans out of work too, not following the rules set forth may exclude you from living and working here forever. And this was my 2 cents, no more, no less.

You will need your green card before they can hire you. And you can't train w/o a US License, and you can't get one of those w/o the aforementioned green card in most states these days. Legally, anyway.

now that you mentioned the drivers license....I just had to go thru the 9 stages of hell to renew my CDL because of my old green card. In Missouri anyhow, you have to prove your right to be here, as in being a citizen or a green card or whatever other immigration document they deem worthy.

I almost lost my dang license to this stuff, because Immigration took way longer to process my paperwork then I was originally told, and if it wasn't for a really nice woman in Jeff City, who helped me straighten this all out 1 day before my license expired, while I was on the road, I don't know what I would have done.

Just want to wish you lick greek!

As far as a green card.....Heck this is the USA you don't even need one to live or work here even if you aren't a citizen, so I wouldn't worry too much about it...........Maybe in 50 or 60 years when we start to enforce existing laws you may have an issue, but until then, enjoy!
