Go to Walmart and get the Supertech Concentrate green coolant in the blue bottle and mix it with distilled water and check your SCA levels with a test strip.

Vio and Steel Dragon Thank this.

Maybe we can reinvent the wheel?
They just want to sell you over priced items.

The new gliders with Detroit are coming with red coolant.

You can use either all red, which is ELC Extended Life Coolant which has the SCA already formulated in the coolant, or the traditional green which you need to periodically check the SCA levels and recharge as needed, or if you have a coolant filter, it will already have it in the filter which will be released at timed intervals.

You cannot mix red with green or vice versa.

If you want to switch from one to the other, your cooling system has to be completely flushed out.

I have mixed green and red coolant it many different vehicles and never had any problems. I buy the green coolant only I just dump some in when needed or when I change coolant I always switched to green. I don’t buy into the hype either as I think they are trying to push and sell something. Its just like the synthetic vs mineral oil debate.

I don’t know what exactly he is going through but I have never experienced any of this. I have done this way for 10+ years and never seen that happened. Maybe because I change my coolant out on my machinery and vehicles on a basis? I always put green back in.

Now I will say I would never put in green or even red antifreeze in with dexcool. That is some crap.. I flushed it out on my Duramax and Sonoma about five years ago and put green back in them and have not had one problem since. Maybe I just drank too much green coolant and don’t know any better? LOL! Remember it just my observation and opinion.

Yes . It' is the orange dexcool that is liquid death. It turns acidic if left in too long and eats right through everything aluminum. That' is the stuff giving the red ELC a bad name.

I run delo ELC premixed coolant in everything I own. Including my series 60.
