What kinds of runs do you get out of Greer? I want to be on the road making money and seeing places, not stuck with short runs to the same places all the time.

I graduated and got my cdl and within two weeks I was training with Superior, roughly a week or two after applying. You are not hired officially until completing hazmat training in Greer, which is a week long. It was over a month of training total for me, with 3 trainers. I believe 2 out of 3 have to approve you before you set out into the system.
As far as runs, I run a lot of New York/Pa and Illinois. I like running the same old places, would love a dedicated run. You really don't have to run yourself to death to make a good paycheck though.
Also, if you haven't registered for Greenville Tech yet, make sure you get there quite early on registration/orientation day. I was there 30 minutes early and got one of the last spots, as the classes fill up quickly.Hoot67 Thanks this. -

Interesting, I did not know that it was harder to make money at different terminals. Due to the location, I would imagine that Greer drivers spend a lot of time on i-77 and the i-40 gorge. Those will slow you down.

I suppose I'll have to learn about what other terminals near me might do differently. I live in Columbia, so Augusta and Charlotte aren't far either, nor Charleston, if there's one there.

No, Greer dispatch does not allow the majority of their drivers into the system. They are routed back to Greer as soon as they reach their inbound terminal. There is a group of drivers there that are allowed out in the system, but that list is limited to five drivers, who do ALOT better annually than the majority. The terminal is payed more per load if a domiciled driver is pulling it, therefore Greer makes sure they have their drivers home within 6-7 days. Sucks, but that is the game there.

I'm wanting to be mostly on the road. Looking at Trimac too but even less info on the forums about them than on Superior.

Trimac hires out of Greenville Tech, same as Superior. Superior is my first choice but I need to have another option, since I'm the only support for my family.
