Greetings. I'm obviously new here and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself before I start posting questions to new and experienced truckers a like.

I am a Road Safety Specialist and a Driving Instructor (but don't hold that against me...I'm not like most of my peers). I'm also a freelance writer and consultant covering road safety issues and am regularly consulted/interviewed by media, police and other road safety advocates on various road safety issues. I also publish articles on my website providing information to road users. Some articles are safety based, some are simply informational and some are opinion pieces about technology, tires, driving tips, etc. Most of my audience are car drivers and motorcyclists. Ya ya...love em or hate em, they are out there on the roads with you and my job is to make them safer one driver at a time. Sorry but I can't make every driver safe...or smart...but I keep trying.

In the near future, I'm going to do an article about sharing the road with trucks. Specifically covering the blind spots or 'no-zones'. Most drivers have no clue just how invisible they are to truck drivers and by constantly hanging out in blind spots they are putting everyone at risk. I will certainly be covering other issues like darting in front of trucks only to hit the brakes right afterward giving the truck driver a heart attack.

I would like your input on these issues and any other issues that you wish cagers and bikers would know about. What are your pet peeves? What scares the hell out of you?

    Thanks for your time.
