I am newbie to this forum but have been reading intently for a couple of weeks. I have been very impressed by the threads and appreciate all the good questions and the collective wisdom of the experienced drivers.
I am a 26+ year construction worker (Project Superintendent) who has had about enough of the ups and downs of that industry (very down at this time with unemployment rates for construction over 50% in my region...).
My 3 kids are grown up and on their own and it's about time to head in a direction I've always been interested in and that's trucking.
I'm looking at getting my CDL A and getting on with a company.
All reasoned advice or comments are welcome.
