I hope you are all doing as well as possible. I am considering getting my CDL and was looking at a local school in the Pittsburgh area. I have a big roadblock as far as employment is concerned.
I'm worried about that I have a non-violent felony from 2019 and it seems that the trucking companies that pay you to get your license want nothing to do with me.
I actually do love to drive, years ago I actually drove for Greyhound, they just happened to be a really bad company, not just to the drivers, but also the customers.

    austinmike and Numb Thank this.

I tried to write a private message but I'm not able to do that just yet, thanks for the response.

Best to stay on the open forum so more people can help you. Some may have experienced your situation.
No need to keep it a secret, stay on the open forum so you can get more than one point of view or bias.

Private messages are suitable for certain situations, but beware those that hijack you to private messages for no apparent reason. My guess is you'll be steered to companies that are paying a referral fee to whoever is trying to keep you on private messages.
So, ask yourself, is the private message in your best interest or the best interest of the person that sent it to you?

    strider1500 Thanks this.

Perhaps you can go to a beverage company, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, 7-UP, etc., getting a job as a dock worker, eventually working your way up to receiving training on becoming a truck driver. It's steady work & you're home every day or night, depending upon what shift you're working.

Good luck to you and your family! God bless you and your family!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.
