I had been looking into driving for Swift a handful of years ago and learned the bit about hitch hikers being a no-no, but wondered where a Guy trying to get from point A (Denver) to point B (Lynchburg or Halifax VA) might still in this day and age be able to find a gig working as a Lumper in exchange for a ride outta' this town?
Just not having a bit of luck in the job market in Denver, lacking a car as I am and need to find some way of getting out to where a group of my friends have sort of a communal 84 acre farm set up.
I'd just hitchhike but I'm a white male with short cropped hair standing at 6'5" and that just seems to give folks the willies for some reasonOf course the other reason being I dont like getting something for nothing and would rather get that 53' trailer (un)loaded for someone a few times along the way.
And if ya' ever dropped off or picked up at the NWA Cargo terminal at ORD from 05' to 08' ya' might know me as back then when I had a real job I fixed their dock equipment and so forth (Talk about a bad time to try changing jobs.)
Anyway, sorry if this is an inappropriate area or forum for asking but I'm running out of options here real fast.
Greets all, heres a question I'm sure has been heard before
