Keep this in mind the next time a trucking company puts you on a bus to get somewhere. If anything happens in route, it becomes total chaos and a human tragedy. I drove for Jefferson Lines for a short while between OK and Kansas City. Whenever large numbers of people got stranded there because of weather, it quickly deteriorated to the atmosphere of a homeless shelter. People needing medicine, diapers, food, etc. It's just a horrible situation.
Memphis would be one of the ultimate worst places to have been stuck. Hopefully, someone took video of what was going on in there.jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -
thats why i'll never ride a greyhound again.
Im getting ready to go to falcon transport orientation. orientation is an hour away from my house. nice little drive for my car.
then they send me to load securement training in pennsylvania. not sure what im gonna do about that one. Gotta get my car back somehow. would be nice if i could pull a dry van to get there. -
If you have the money rent a car. For one-way rentals you will usually have to pick up the car at an airport and return to an airport. Make sure you get unlimited miles also.

This was a terrible situation , I have been following on our local news. A security guard threw a ederly lady out of the bus depot because she went out and spoke on camera with the news team. the whole thing was caught on camera. this was on sunday. the reporter could not get through to anyone at greyhound. I saw yesterday that the guard has been suspended and that they offered to refund her money. no where near enough for what they put her through. A greyhound spokesperson made a very weak appology in my opinion.
Baack Thanks this. -
I've done oneway rentals at company expense before. I'll have to look into this. Falcon will reimburse me 20 cents per mile. At my estimations that pays for fuel for a round trip. When I rented cars before, it'd be like $100 plus fuel...for one way. So it should be covered by the reimbursement I'd imagine. But im willing to pay a little so i dont have to ride the "big grey dog" as a very hot JB recruiter put it...
Problem is getting back from the rental place after dropping car off. THAT is why i have to look into it, because THAT gets expensive as hell. But I know about company and airport and hotel and rental car shuttles so...we'll see.
Im still drivin my car to gary though.

Doesnt suprise me I caught a greyhound from Pittsburgh,PA to San Bernidino,CA and it took a week. We broke down in an arizona desert that was 118 degrees and it got to the point wher people started walking on the side of the road hoping to get somewhere and a new bus showed up the next day.

I'd rather dig ditches than ride a greyhound again. Memphis is a chithole too, what a place to get stuck! Can you say GHETTO! Now you know why Elvis wrote the song "In The Ghetto".
