of course too, one may want a "peep hole" of sorts to allow some air flow. the covers i have seen (as many of you too have) you can make the "peep hole" like a full diamond shape, or one small section open. hard to describe, but you do want some air to flow.

i have seen screwed in buttons/snaps, i have seen pop riveted snaps, i have even seen Velcro, in place of each.

i like velcro, but too many installations, and removals, eventually (i think) wear out the velcro.

i think that to replace one or too snap buttons with some velcro, should suffice. i'd be thinking that using zip ties, will eventually tear the winter/summer front, as the wind you get will make the front wiggle too much.

If it doesn't say Gortex I don't buy them. My years in drilling being wet learned me.

I buy most of my boots at Kipling shoes in Milton, WV. My feet get wet or my shoulders and I'm fighting sickness. Have one pair for winter, 1600 grams insulate, steel toes, Gortex. At this moment I wear 400 grams, steel, Gortex year round. I have used mink oil, motor oil, and my feet got wet. Difference is I can actually walk in a creek with Gortex and have no worries, my experience is "water proof" means you can walk across dew covered grass. No Gortex no buy for me. Be careful out there.

Try driving an O'l drafty Cabover with the heater under the passenger seat and blower only works on low. Some haven't had the pleasure of mechanical compression release to help get started in cold weather, and from your question I'm pretty sure you haven't either....? Cardboard use to be a truckers Freind, grill cover, creeper to lay on while holding a light at 2:00am trying to see what the noise is.

Everyone knows pointy cowboy boots are the best for winter driving. I never used rubber insulated gloves to throw Iron. Really truckers use there bare hands.

Boy am I behind, all I have is steel toed tennies and leather gloves. Have a pair of neoprene gloves but forget they're there. btw pointy boots are for kickin Kaka roaches in corners.

Cause cowboots have high heels and smooth slick soles. As soon as you climb out of the rig you'll end up on your #£₩ laying flat on your back in the snow. There also good in bar fights cause you can't run so you just kick the guy in the shins.
