So why don't they post the rate on your paystub? Every company I have ever worked for posted the rate. Plus I made 3 times more than what I made with Groendyke. $520 a week what a joke!!
I have pulled tanker for over 10 years and I can say this company will feed you full of ####. I am now working locally and make more with my new company and I am hope almost every night.

My wife and I will be gettin' the heck out of California FINALLY! and I was recently offered a job with Groendyke. Does anyone have any info on them? The good, the bad and the ugly? Pay rate, home time, etc. I have been driving tankers for about 11 years here in California. (born and raised) with no accidents or tickets on my record. I haul Liquified Petroleum Gas now, but can't transfer to Arkansas where we are moving. I have met with recruiting in Tulsa, and need to know about this place. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey thanks! I appreciate it. I gotta work like everyone else, but I also like to be home with the family. Sounds good. I am going back to Tulsa to take a drug test, physical, etc. next week. Can't wait! Thanks again. I appreciate it.

I did a search but much of the info i've found both here and other boards is rather old or provides minimal about the company itself. From what I can tell most there were happy but I can't find anything newer than about a year ago. I put in the other day for a driver position out of the Phoenix terminal with 1 year dry van experience. My first choice is Superior Carriers but I have yet to hear anything back from the terminal manager in Parker, AZ via email (130 miles from me) but plan to call the terminal after the first of the year.
How is Groendyke fairing nowadays? Anyone know about the payscale (I know its percentage but what about empty)? Accessory pay? Time out vs. time home? Anything else anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Their website is rather scarce on info and a post on other sites yielded minimal results. Thanks. -
I worked for them from June thru October of this year. They pay percentage based on your experience driving, with one year I believe you would make 19% but I'm not sure. There is no empty pay ( when empty you are running for free).Usually you are out 7-10 days then back home, but they are easy to work with if you need to get home for something. Unloading pay is $13.00 per hour after you give 2hrs. I was hired for the system but they were unable to get me out on the road due to lack of system work (which is why I left). Mind you this was at my terminal,I was never to the Phoenix terminal so I can't say how they are doing. Personally I would keep trying for Superior
Here are a couple links on Groendyke and Superior, while the driver in the one Groendyke thread is clearly disgruntled the figures he's giving reflect what I was making as well. There is also a very informative thread on tanker companys on the CAD site by Cyanide
Best of luck

Run for free? Seriously? that 19% better be paying good then! Otherwise, forget it. I've read all of those links so far... which is what prompted me to want Superior. Last I heard their in a freeze...but if i could get in with them I'm sure I would be more than happy! Thanks Johnny!

Best of luck whatever you decide.
