Do you have to have tank experience to get on at groedyke? How does the pay work? What lanes do you run

Ok, everything didn't work out. We were off to a great start but it didn't last. They have a habit of doing what they want with your pay and not notifying you. I mean they can and do change your rate of pay without giving you any notice. If you can be ok with being treated this way the company is not all bad. It really got under my skin and a few others that recently applied. You will get a call from the terminal manager if you go 71 mph for more than 30 seconds. You will also get a call if the machine registers a sudden braking or turning event. Again, it's not all bad. They seem to have the work in these times that shouldn't be dismissed quickly. They don't give you all the information to go with your work assignment. By that I mean you need to really get into each load and check directions, hours of operation, needed equipment for the customers (more than normal). If they send you to a terminal you had better darn sure call that terminal and plan ahead or you will be shut out of the terminal, left without needed information that could be vital to the entire next weeks pay. If you can get on them and stay on them it will work better for you. When you hire on be sure and get the pay information they will not disclose it all to you when you hire in. There is more pay than percentage pay. They pay layover, pump off, hose, guaranteed pay and more when they feel like it. Guaranteed pay is if you go out on a loan situation to another terminal for a short period of time that terminal has to make available work for you everyday or they pay you the guarantee. Depends what you negotiate 250-275 a day. If a plant closes down you sit and are paid. Terminals vary widely from good to nasty. I just couldn't handle feeling like they were waiting to terminate employees and them messing with my pay. Good luck.
