I don't know, I see those Waste Management guys all the time at the Flying J in Carnesville and they don't have a lick of dirt on them. Trailers are side dumps. My friend that just went to work there a month ago says he loves it. Says he doesn't get dirty at all. Works about 52-55 houra a week, on 4 and off 3. Benefits are cheap. OT after 40. Sounds like my kind of gig. We'll see. I have a phone interview with them Monday.

I saw that and tried to apply. Didn't get past the first page because I don't have my doubles endorsement. I have to renew my license in the next 30 days so I will probably go ahead and take that test to get my doubles/triples endorsement just for possible future use.

Well the Waste Management thing did not work out. Did my phone interview and literally 2 minutes later got the typical automated email "we thank you for you interest in WM...blah blah blah". So I called back immediately to find out what the deal was. Supposedly they had no more openings for that position. I was a "victim" of bad timing is what the guy told me. That's funny because the ad is still up on their website and they have a huge billboard up on I-85 looking for drivers.

Anyway, I know it is a long shot but I am going to do my best to try and get back on with Superior. I should have never left there. I thought the gas hauling gig would be a good thing but I was lied to about how much money I would make and also the terminals I would be pulling gas out of. My employment record looks like dog crap now. I would stick it out at Groendyke to get it back in check but these net paychecks of $1100-1200 every two weeks is killing me financially. I thought they would be comparable to Superior but not even close.

Groendyke started me out pretty good keeping me busy and I was making decent money. I don't know what happened but now they have whittled me down to one run a week out and back. I have said something to them several times and they have jacked me around about giving me better runs. It has gotten ridiculous here to say the least.

Its hard. My company tries hard, but at the end of the day, theyre just a .40 common carrier who has no idea what they will do in the future. I run alot of miles and deal with great customers, but I make just barely more than I dod with Schneider, haul a box, instead of tanking. But I love Tanking and dont think I could ever give it up

I've always wondered why Groendyke seems to always be hiring here in Phoenix, you definitely shed some light on the problem perhaps. 11 to 1200 take home every 2 weeks is not near enough especially for tanker.

This past check was like $1498 so not quite $750 a week on that one but more the the last couple. Not enough to make me want to hang around.

Well it's funny how things work out. After Waste Management blew me off the first round, they posted another ad for drivers a few weeks later. So I applied again and got called in for an interview this past Friday. I think it went okay but it was hard to read the guy that interviewed me.

If they call me with a job offer I may take it. Job pays by the hour, ot after 40 hrs. Work week is 52-55 hours per week. Health insurance is dirt cheap. Home every day, off on the weekends. They give you two weeks vacation, week of personal days and 5 sick days right out of the gate from day 1. No waiting a year to get 1 week of vacation.

Cons are they are extremely strict on safety which I have no issue with. However they do have driver facing cameras in addition to the ones facing out. I would have to get use to them monitoring me all day. But I have a feeling it is only a matter of time before all company driving jobs will have cameras in the trucks. This seems to be the direction everyone is going in. If I continue to drive then I guess I will have to get used to it.

By the way, Groendyke won the Heil award again for 2016. This makes the seventh time. They are buying everyone rings....What the heck am I going to do with a ring??? As much as they are going to spend on those rings for every driver that will never wear them, why don't they get us all some type of gift card, Wal Mart, etc? I can't do jack with a ring and I will never wear it. This is the stupid stuff I get tired of here.

WM gave me the run around for 3 months. I had 4 interviews with the same guy. I swear he was just doing it to mess with me. He told me to call at a certain time one day, so I call at the time he wanted and he answers, obviously with a mouthful of food. He starts talking about setting up an interview and starts asking questions that he's alrwady asked me several times, all the time smacking his lips, chewing food and such. Finally I have enough I ask him if he can get his head out of the trough long enough to talk with. He tells at me saying that I called him wjen He was eating. I remind him that it was the time that HE scheduled. He laughs and says thats my problem and not his.
I tell him Ill be there shortly to talk to him face to face.

I get there and he refuses to come to the front office.

    Never been back.

They are always hiring here. Super easy to get fired from here
