If you haul flatbed driving someone else's truck what is your opinion on gross pay? Do you prefer 50/50 split on things like fuel and insurance or do you prefer a straight percentage of the weekly gross? Also, what kind of percentage do you think is fair considering the owner has other expenses as well including maintenance, truck payments, etc?
Obviously both parties want to get paid as much as possible, but trying to see what is fair from a flatbed drivers perspective.

If you want what he has. You have to be willing to do what he has done and be where he has been!
Usually hard work many hours over many years and good bussiness sense. And a little luck helps also.Midwest Trucker, Tb0n3, Arkansas and 1 other person Thank this. -
what is the driver of the truck going to do?
Find own loads, forced dispatch, wash truck??????? -
5050?
You might as well put me on the title to that truck. I'll get your revenue 5050 too. If you brought in 6000 dollars for the week, that's 3000 to me MWAH.
Otherwise put me on 30% of revenue each week. YOU pay all the rest. Fuel too. (And a w2 paper for me to sign as a employee.) -
Driver gets %30 of gross revenue except fuel surcharges.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
You want what the owner has you will have to work up to it. 50/50 are you kidding please. That's the problem with your generation you WANT.
rabbiporkchop and Arkansas Thank this. -
I'd rather be on w2 and get 28-33% and id do the same if I had a driver
