Not trying to be harsh here but since people are dumb enough to do lease purchases they (the company)will just take whatever they can find to keep you moving. They don't really care how much or how little it pays. By the time you figure out how bad your getting screwed you are so deep into paying for your truck that you don't want to walk away and with a little luck and some good budgeting skills you may be one of the lucky ones that actually pays their truck off. And if you don't pay it off they will just roll it over to the next sucker. They normally target people who do not have the money or credit to be an O/O but have the dream to be one. If you want to be an O/O you would be better off to find another way to pay for your truck. 5 k gross is not hard and I actually expect more unless a day or 2 off is taken during the week. And I am home most every weekend. Normally early on Friday.

I ran into a Schneider ic we talked and said he had to gross around 6-7000 dollars in order to take home 1500-2000 dollars. Is that good or is he getting screwed

He's working cheap and he's working hard too. Some of the worst weeks I have I'll net that after booking $3,000-$3,200 in revenue and those are times I think of quitting. It's very difficult to keep things going, not to mention any sort of progression, with weekly $1,500-$2,000 settlements even when your equipment is paid for. I can't imagine how depressed I'd get if I was netting that on a $6,000-$7,000 gross revenue week. When I gross $6,000 to $7,000 I usually get net settlements in the neighborhood of $4,000 to $5,000 or more if it was a really stellar trip.

He must be driving 9000 miles a week at .75 a mile to make those numbers work

He showed me the load board and it consisted of loads that were in the range of 1.20 a mile to maybe 1.60 a mile

There needs to be a laughing button. I can't even imagine pulling anything that cheap these days. Your "friend" is getting raped on a daily basis. I dare your "friend" to ask for the rate confirmation sheet on his next couple of loads.

The rate con woukd be legit. The guy is leased to Schneider national. Every single load they have is brokered from Schneider logistics.

Please explain how he is having $4500-$5000 in deductions?

Plus even at $1.60 all miles he'd have to drive 3800-4400 miles a week to gross that "$6000-$7000"

None of any of it adds up to be possible

    csmith1281 Thanks this.

Try expedite, $5000 gross is easy, I hit that almost weekly. I run anywhere from say 1200 to 2200 miles a week if I leave Michigan to say run over to Youngstown OH or maybe down to Fort Wayne. An average week for me right now, and these are IFTA miles is say 1500 miles right now. This last week, I netted $3400 or there about, I think I ran around 1200 IFTA miles? Things are just starting to pick up, and the ELDs coming on line, we shall see what the rates do. Presently I am expecting a 30% pay cut with the inflexible HOS and the egg timer.

Right and the load for 1.60 he said "oh that's a good one right there". He just proved to me that the schneider ic choice program is not in my future. NEVER
