Heck, I was getting $10 a mile last week and part of the week before that, 100 mile run with 15,000 lbs. And that is not including all of the detention... I think I did what, 7 of those? Then I got tired and went to the house. I'm still at the house. ;-)

Been doing this for a few years, automotive expedite. Not many miles but a few hours. Which is good, as I rarely leave Michigan and the majority of the freight I haul is normally under 5,000 lbs. Many times I throw it in the cab and walk it in to the consignee.

And to think I laughed at a broker pushing $1.60/mi.
I actually got a bigger laugh this week. Pueblo, Co. To Cedar Rapids,IA. 46k lb slinky, $.76/mi! He honestly couldn't understand what the problem is.

Yeah that was the gross was $0.76 per mile. Yeah after fuel I actually would have lost money on that. Needless to say I did not load it. But I'm sure some idiot probably will, and say well it's better than being empty. Or my favorite that not every load has to be profitable. Yes I've actually heard that from people on here.
