If anyone think that the magnetic mount can scratch the paint easily, I have a good suggestion for them to put their antenna like this one. The Stryker SR-A10 CB Antenna on a vehicle in such a nice position working in snow too. SWR 0.5 - 1:1

Hell of a mag for the stryker...
Dont hold me to it but i think it better to have voil closer to the roof...
    Cant get a .5 swr...Lowest possible is a 1..

From a structural perspective yes but from a performance perspective not really. Mine works amazingly well for a bottom load antenna but I'm making a sacrifice in performance but using it in exchange for the Peace of Mind of knowing that I'm not going to rip a hole in the roof of my vehicle by having a top-heavy antenna bolted to my roof. The more top-heavy it is generally the better it will perform

True on the coil being way up....Dont know why but i swear i saw something saying the coil should be close to the metal roof..Maybe it was a bad radio dream...I know on my rig the coil has to be up high cause of the low mount option of my mirror arm..
Lol i was thinkin of a tri mag at one point but i didnt wanna be peeling off my roof if i wanted to remove it for any reason.lol..

I take it you guys don’t park your vehicles in the garage. I’ve got a 2008 pick up now and I’m not sure what type of antenna to put on it. thought about the mag mount but I’m too lazy to get out and put the antenna on & off the roof every time I leave for work, and come back home just to pull into the garage. I like my fender mount that I had on my old Silverado pickup, but unfortunately I’ll have to order a new mount to make it work.

Fender mounts are not overly strong, can do alot of damage and make your ant directional twards the passenger side vs omni directional on the roof..
My mag mount come off when not in use, dont want moon spots....My sirio can bend to 90 degrees fr str8 up if need be..

Breedlove has the best mounts. Something there ought to work. Quick disconnect or fold-over.
