There's 50 times more jobs in the south that pay less
Than 18 bucks an hour for a truck driver.
Unless you live in a big city your not getting that.
There's local guys in Dallas working for less.
I don't know what planet your on,look at the going
Hourly rate for a truck driver almost anywhere.
You'll be surprised how little most local guys make.

Local guys here make about what the op said with that tanker outfit. Some even less then that But they all pay extra for loading/unloading tanker. Here unless it's FedEx or UPS you won't make above a normal wage for trk drivers. Then there's construction driving sidedumps, here depending on exp they start at $13.00 on up to $20.00 an hr.

I could scrape by on $700 a week in Florida but Boston? No way. I'd stay with Werner, a grand a week for three loads is good money. There are local jobs in Chicago paying $20+ an hour some even have overtime after forty of fifty hours. That's easy dry van work too.

I'd be driving a Straight truck sucking fry oil and grease trap at restaurants. 40 hrs a week. Start time of 4 am.
Home every night and weekends off.
    Today was a disaster.
2nd store took 5.5 hrs to do 1900 pieces with the trailer being 130-140 degrees.
The store manager didn't give a ####. I was supposed to be home today. That didn't happen.
Well, I was supposed to be home yesterday but they needed a Saturday worker so I played ball. Bit me in the ###.
Went to pick up load. Suppised to be 3500 pieces and 40k.
Packed all the way to the doors, and close to 47 k.
Maybe home isn't a bad idea?

Oh, and I drank 3 L of water in that time, and had to give up half a case of my water and watch them drink it because they were drinking soda and eating sugar cakes in 100 degree weather.
That kind of negligence could have killed them, or me.
    Grr.
But on hot days I keep hydrated and stay away from processed foods.
Watermelon, melons, bananas, and salads .
Probably why I kept going in that heat and they were all hunched over dying, till I made them drink water. Then their pace started to pick up after I made them drink the water and hit the account building to cool off.
Many years of outdoor work. The training they give you is meant to keep you alive and well.

Fine whatever. You have a point. Happy?

You could put that in a less confrontational manner you know.

Don't take it personal Heavy, nobody knows each other well enough to make attacks personal. Just roll with his attack and move on. Call him a ###### or whatever since he's jumbo. Haha but remember, name calling is not tolerated on TTR.

I don't take it personal. And there is no name calling going on or will.

My flaw if anything besides women is I love to fight. And sometimes that has gotten me black and blue for a few weeks at a time. I know the internet is a very poor... social situation but I work hard to let things be. IF it is one thing I learned in Facebook, you can piss off a million Muslims inside the USA as a Patriot making truth statements but you never have enough hours in a day wrestling with them all.
