Those DPF systems are so unreliable and problematic to start with. I wouldn't mess with it by tweeking your engine. Just my .02..i think your asking for trouble. Read allt he threads ont his forum of how many people have DPF ishues with stock settings. Your asking it to go above what it was designed for.
-
Yeah Richter I'm with you on this. Might as well keep power stock but improve throttle response a little bit which is a little hard to do with restrictive DPF. A tune wouldn't be really a tune with EGR and DPF dragging his truck down.
-
I saw a guy at the landstar year who put a t section with a manual valve in his tailpipe before the DPF. He would open the valve and run a strait pipe grass burner and if going in a scale he'd pull a choke style wire in the cab and it would close off his strait pipe and go through he DPF like normal. Didnt see it in action, but he claimed he got much better performance bypassing the DPF as much as possible. it was pretty visible though if you did a visual inspection underneath.

sorry but I can't send pm through here yet,but I can receive them.please send another contact method, via pm.thanks!

thanks for inpt.i wonder if you could do a egr bypass or deleat, and still run filter?
-
You can, but I still don't recommend it since you go to California and the ports
-
no to menssion, i think that would put more stress on the dpf since the systems are designed to work together. You could downgrade to a pre dpf truck (06ish) and add on an oversized aftermarket dpf that wont restrict anything. but after market dpfs are pricy. With the current rig, there arn't many options if you must stay cali legal. I've opted to just not drive in cali.
-
yea I hear what your say'in,but gotta run this one 2-3yrs the next one will be glider with aftermarket hiflow dpf.
-
that would be your best bet. Although you could just get a dd15 on a new truck if you gotta be cali legal. The 550 hp with 1750 torque is pretty nice. You could even go with a dd16 and get a whopping 600hp with 2050 torque. That thing would haul donkey. The cascadia is the most fuel efficent truck on the road, so if you want to make money, the cascadia is where its at. Of course you can't uprate them easily, but you wont have to if you get enough power to start with.
